LINKS STRAIGHT TO REVISION WEBSITES

Homework

Pupils are expected to complete 2-4 columns of maths homework and 1 column of grammar per week.  This forms part of 'continuous provision' meaning that key skills are built upon throughout the year.

Reading - 20 minutes per evening is optimal.  Minimum 4 times per week please.  Parents can read to their child for part of the reading session, to help maintain flow and you can also model good expression and discuss any new vocabulary.  Children need to be able to read fluently a minimum of 90 words per minute to be able to access the SATs paper in May.

Pupils will have a points target set at the beginning of each term.  Books are awarded points according to the number of words they contain.  Pupils can choose to spend longer on longer novels, or complete 1 or 2 thinner books per week in order to reach their target.

Throughout the year, Rennaisance keeps track of the number of words read by each pupil.  Millionaires receive an extra special treat!
