Every child and every adult in our school is a School Council member, this means our council can represent the views of all our pupils and staff. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
Richmond
Each week at every class takes part in a class meeting where they debate current topics and share their ideas about things happening in the school.
Every class had elected two class representatives who meet with all the elected representatives every week to discuss the class meeting results and action the work needed to make the changes suggested by their peers.
Mayfield
At Mayfield we are building the council to run the same way as Richmond...watch this space!
This term Richmond pupils have elected their new deputy representatives who will represent the children in their classes for the next two years. Each class has a Primary and a Deputy representative, when a deputy representative joins the council they are following the lead of their primary, who has already been on council for one year. In their second year they will then become the primary and a new deputy is elected.
