Welcome to Chameleon Class

We like to have fun in Chameleon class and be engaged in our learning. We make mistakes because they help us learn and we try to be as independent as possible. We enjoy learning inside and outside the classroom.

Chameleon Class Timetable Term 1

Term 1

We are using a fantastic book in Literacy called Once Upon a Tune by James Mayhew which connects storytelling with classical music and art.  There are three stories we will be looking at from this book:  The Flight of the Bumblebee, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and William Tell.  We will the beautiful illustrations to inspire our art work and listen to the classical music which accompanies these stories.  Our topic this term is 'Sound' and we will explore the way sound is made through vibration in a range of ways and look at the volume of sounds and the pitch.  We will perform various experiments such as sound bars in water, elastic bands on pots, pots with clingfilm and dried rice and many more.  In Maths, our work is personalised and we work in small groups.  We will cover a range of number and numerical pattern plus shape, space and measure.

It is our turn to go swimming this term at Dover Leisure Centre on Wednesday afternoon (swimming kit to be brought in every week).
