This term, Year Five children have been learning the Highwayman poem written by Alfred Noyes. From this, they have learned how to pen an informal letter written by Bess to the Highwayman to explain the danger they are both in. Here is a selection of some of the letters they have produced to a high standard.
The Highwayman - Alfred Noyes
This term, we have been learning the poem The Highwayman, written by Alfred Noyes in the early 20th century. To help with the story and length and complexity of the story, we have learnt and performed the poem. Each group had a section each and had to think about the important keywords from each. They then put actions to the words and retold their part to the class.
