Year 5 - Manatee & Wombat

A Message to the Teachers

Still image for this video
Check out this fabulous video that some members of Wombat class have made. It brought smiles (and the odd tear) to our eyes! Thank you girls - we miss you all!

School closure - Coronavirus

In the event of the school being closed due to the Coronavirus, we will be using Purple Mash as a platform for setting learning tasks for the children. They will have tasks to complete through their 'To Do' tab which they can then submit for us to mark/comment on. In turn, we can provide feedback should they need assistance.

Below is a quick link to Purple Mash as well as a link to TT Rockstars which we would also like the children to use regularly.

We have provided all of their logon details, for both of these websites, as part of a paper pack of work we have sent home with them (just in case they don’t have laptop access). Further online resources have been provided in individual class pages under the home learning icon.

Our normal home learning activities have been sent out to the children and an electronic copy is available on the website.

Please also encourage your child to continue reading a variety of texts as well as giving them practical activities to complete to enhance their maths and language skills. These could include following a recipe to bake biscuits, reading different clocks around your home and keeping a journal of their extended break.

If you want to encourage your child to be more active at home, we have included a link to Joe Wick’s 5 Minute Move | Kids Workout 5 (on YouTube).

We will be updating the learning on Purple Mash regularly so please encourage your child to check it regularly for further tasks.

We hope that we will be able to resume normal teaching again in the near future but in the meantime, we wish you and your family a safe and healthy Easter.

Mrs Thornhill, Mrs Tierney & Mr Lowrey.
