This has certainly been an interesting end to a term and while school life came to an abrupt end over a week ago, we have all been really impressed with the online learning you have been sending back to us over Purple Mash. We will be setting work for Term 5 online also, so please check your 2Do tasks on Purple Mash and Education City (parents, all logons were sent out before the school closed and are in the Home Learning packs as a letter, but please feel free to get in touch should they have gone missing).
Our Easter competition is still running on Purple Mash, and we would also encourage you to draw and decorate Easter Eggs to place in your window. The idea is for you to spot them if you're out for your daily exercise.
Also, have a go at completing the daily activities on the Kindness Calendar, each week there will be a selection of fun and thoughtful things for you to do that will help you look after yourself and those around you.
Scroll down for our special 'Easter Activities' section. It is filled with nice things for you to do over the break if you want something to do!
We hope you have as good an Easter as can be hoped for.

School closure - Coronavirus
Please also encourage your child to continue reading a variety of texts as well as giving them practical activities to complete to enhance their maths and language skills. These could include following a recipe to bake biscuits, reading different clocks around your home and keeping a journal of their extended break.
If you want to encourage your child to be more active at home, we have included a link to Joe Wick’s 5 Minute Move | Kids Workout 5 (on YouTube).
We will be updating the learning on Purple Mash regularly so please encourage your child to check it regularly for further tasks.
We hope that we will be able to resume normal teaching again in the near future but in the meantime, we wish you and your family a safe and healthy Easter.

Welcome back to term four
We hope you all had a fun half-term and are ready to embark on another term in Year 5. We can’t quite believe we are half way through the year already! This term will we be continuing our Heroes and Villains theme. We are also be joining the whole school by looking at the book ‘The Wonder’ to celebrate book week.
Once again can we remind you of the home learning activities. Your new tasks for this term can be found on the back of this newsletter. It would be great if you could complete all of them this term, in addition to your daily reading and your Buster reading minutes.
Mrs Thornhill, Mrs Tierney and Mr Lowrey.
