Welcome to Year 3
Welcome back to you and your children at the start of Term 3 and a new decade! This term the teachers in Year 3 will be: Mrs. Hogben supported by Mrs. Watson in Giraffe Class, Mrs. Griffiths supported by Mrs. Buckley in Zebra Class and Mrs. Cooper supported by Mrs. Adams in Flamingo Class.
The children have settled back into their classes well and we have enjoyed hearing about their Christmas break. As before, we will be sharing your child's learning journey with you as the term progresses through our class pages. Please check for regular updates!
We are starting a new and exciting reading initiative along side a number of other schools in Dover called 'Buster Book Club'. Every Wednesday is Buster Reading night where your child has been set a 15 minute reading target. This can be independent or shared reading of any reading matter of their choice. They have a bookmark to be completed with their reading time and signed by an adult. This information will be collected on Thursday morning and submitted to the Buster Book Club to see if your child's class can win any reading prizes.
Look at the updated links to different websites at the bottom of this page to support and enhance your child's learning experience.
The children will still need their named indoor PE kits (blue shorts, white T-shirt, plimsolls) on Thursdays and named outdoor Games kits (preferably trainers, warm tracksuit bottoms and tops as the weather is now very cold and unpredictable) on Mondays. These can be left in school. Please can we ask that all long hair is tied up and earrings are removed or covered with earing tape on PE/Games days which needs to be provided from home.
Please see the attached document below for further details about Year 3.
