Today is 'World Book Day'. Around the world, people are celebrating the love of reading and books. In past years, we have celebrated 'World Book Day' in school by inviting you to dress up as your favourite book character. This year, due to many of you being at home, we are inviting you to dress up if you wish, and to take a photo of yourself with your books, at home. Please send your photos to your class teacher via the class email, as we would love to share your photos on our website. If you do not want your photo shared, please make your wish know to your teacher, when you send it to her.
As well as dressing up and taking a photo of yourself, we have some other activities which you might like to take part in.
Firstly, we have a 'Book Scavenger Hunt'. The sheet is attached below. You will need to search through your book collection, and see if you can find the items listed on the sheet.
There are also some colouring activities - you can make your own bookmark or a book character mask or a set of finger-puppets which you could use to retell a story. There is also a word-search, a crossword and a character description activity.
You don't have to use the sheets listed below. If you would rather draw or paint a picture of a book character or a scene from a story, then that would be great. You could even do some drama, and act out your favourite story.
Whatever you choose to do, have fun and enjoy 'World Book Day'!
