Welcome to Whitfield Aspen School

The children, parents, staff and governors are extremely proud of our unique and successful school which has served both the local and wider East Kent communities for over 50 years. We pride ourselves on our ability to ‘Learn together’ with ‘Aspiration, Imagination and Determination’. We continually find innovative ways to make learning fun, engaging as well as challenging.

All learners are valued as individuals; we celebrate diversity and respect children regardless of ability, gender, religion or ethnicity. We strive to provide a rich learning environment where everyone’s achievements can be celebrated and individual progress is recognised.

Whitfield Aspen School is unique because it brings together mainstream pupils and Special school pupils in a truly inclusive learning environment. Our strength lies in our commitment to provide learning opportunities for all. Our ethos of ‘learning together’ is strong which enables children to make great progress. We also aim to provide learning opportunities that enable children to take responsibility for their own learning and encourage them to take calculated risks to help develop their own skills.

Our school building provides a rich learning environment for children to enjoy. We have up-to-date ICT to support learners as well as open grounds which enables Forest School activities to happen. This all contributes to children enjoying school and helps their confidence grow.

We are committed to working in partnership with parents and welcome our parents to take advantage of the many informal and formal opportunities to enhance the home-school relationship. We also work closely with 8 other Primary schools in the Dover area, forming the Samphire Learning Hub (SLH). This promotes learning opportunities for staff so that they can reflect on their own practice and make improvements to benefit the learners here at Whitfield Aspen School.

Prospective parents are warmly invited to look round the school and are encouraged to visit during school time so that they can see us ‘in action’. Office staff will be only too happy to arrange an appointment.

Kind regards

Our ethos and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our mission is to motivate children to want to learn and to have the determination to reach their goals. We will inspire children to meet challenges they encounter with confidence, develop independence, now and in the future.

We will ALL succeed!
