Monday 19th - Thursday 22nd October
I'm sure you can't quite believe it's come around as quickly as it has, we certainly cant and we've been really impressed by your children's efforts to settle back in and get into the swing of things as best they can. Certainly, there has been a period of re-adjustment and they seem to found their feet.
This week, we have rounded off our African learning by completing our own myth creational stories, including a range of features: supernatural theme (gods/goddesses), lots of interesting time adverbials which help explain when something happens and varied vocabulary to help the reader imagine.
While Wombat class has been focussing on money, Manatee class has been getting our heads around using bar modelling to help answer word problems.
If your child would like to do their reading quiz at home, and they remember their logon, they can access the site via the link attached below.
They can refer back to their books too, just in case you think they might be cheating. It's fine, they do it in class.
TT Rock Stars
The link for this site is also attached if you find you have a rainy day at home.
An alternative Parents' day will take place from w/c 16 November, running for three weeks with two classes per day. The interviews will be held via a 10 minute telephone call and we will ask you to provide a preferred time slot.
You'll hear from either of us via our class email addresses when we get back to confirm times and slots so please check your junk email boxes during that week. The allocations will be first come, first serve so please, if you can, provide more than one option.
Wellies / outdoor shoes
Weather dependent, we will continue to send the children out over term two so if they do have a spare pair of shoes you dont mind getting muddy, then please do send them in. Our bubble restrictions will continue after half term, meaning the children will remain in a class bubble.
We hope you have an enjoyable half term.
Mrs Tierney & Mr Lowrey.
