Monday 23rd - 27th November
This week sees the conclusion of our Highway Man creative writing. It has been great to see the children really engaged and enthusiastic about a romantic ballad written in the early 20th century. I think the adventure and the piracy really helps bring this story alive for them. We hope to be able to share the letters they've written (as Bess) with you shortly.
Furthermore, we have almost completed our first assessment pieces with both classes in reading, spelling, punctuation & grammar and maths (arithmetic and reasoning).
Thank you all for your cooperation on Wednesday, we hope you found the day helpful and informative; it's certainly of great help to us in getting to know your children a little better. Please, if you have any further questions, please contact us on the usual addresses.
On a lighter note, please keep your eyes peeled as the school's classroom windows are transformed into a working advent calendar. Each year group will unveil a Christmas themed window in the countdown to the festive break; this will be in place of our tradition hoops.
Plus, this week, both classes have been preparing laminated Christmas decorations for the children's wing of the William Harvey hospital. The aim was to add some festive cheer with wipeable decoration.
Thanks, Mrs Tierney & Mr Lowrey
