Understanding the World Activities
Your child may like to help chop a range of different food to make a fruit rocket. They may like to use the visual aid below to communicate which fruit they would like to add to their kebab. Alternatively, you could offer your child a range of pre prepared fruit to explore, maybe try types of fruit they have not tried before to encourage them to taste something new.
This term the children are also learning to make jam tarts at school so your child may like to try making these at home too.
Wrap up warm and go for a winter walk. On your walk see what modes of transport your child can spot! Your child may also enjoy a ride on the bus or train.
Messy Play Activities
Your child may enjoy playing with a small world sensory transport tub filled with different materials and textures such as cereal, soapy foam or jelly. A car wash water play activity is great fun to then clean up the toys! Fill the sink, bath or container with water and bubble bath and provide a range of scrubbing brushes and sponges for your child to use. Your child may also enjoy pouring water into different sized containers and bottles. Use language such as dirty, clean and the types of different transport and encourage your child to imitate these or experiment with making a range of different sounds. You may like to blow bubbles for your child to pop as they play.
