Tuesday 23rd February

Good Morning!

Today is Tuesday 23rd February. We are going to start our day with our morning exercises. Now that the weather is warming up you could go out in the garden to complete the exercises. Lets start with 23 star jumps. Remember to say the number names to 23 as you jump. Now lets see if you can jog around the garden as you count to 23. Well done, you should be ready for your learning!

Literacy Challenge

Yesterday we read the story, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar!' Each day the Caterpillar eats different fruit, but he is still hungry! Can you remember which fruit he eats each day? Today is Tuesday, what fruit did he eat today? Draw a picture of the Hungry Caterpillar eating todays fruit and write a sentence about your picture. Ask a grown up to help you with the sentence, remembering a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.

What is your favourite fruit? You could ask your family members also.

Maths Challenge

This week we will be learning about coins in maths, we will be adding some together but first we are going to practice counting them and writing the total 🙂

The activity:

Look around your house for some 1p coins. Count the pennies that you can find at home, how many have you got altogether? Can you make your coins into caterpillars like me?

Draw the face of the hungry caterpillar and decide how many coins you would like to add to his body- Can you write the number at the end? Don't forget when we write how much money we have altogether we have to put a 'p' after the number, this stands for pence.

Parents- If you have a go at this maths challenge, please take some pictures and add some comments for the evidence for learning app, thank you!
