Thursday 28th January

Good Morning everyone!

Today is Thursday 28th January. Lets start our day with some exercise to get us ready for our learning. We will start with 28 star jumps. Remember to say the number names each time you jump! Now lets try hopping 28 times. You might need to swap legs as you are hopping!

Literacy Challenge

This week, we are helping Goldilocks find ways to say sorry to the Bears. On Monday she made them a card, on Tuesday she made them some new chairs and on Wednesday she sang them a song. Today she is going to be very kind by helping the Bears. One of our Golden Rules at school is to be Kind and Helpful.

Goldilocks is going to help Baby Bear tidy up his toys. She is going to help Daddy Bear make the beds and she is going to help Mummy Bear to wash up the porridge bowls.

We would like you to find ways that you can be kind and helpful at home today. You could draw a picture of you helping someone and have a go at labelling it. Remember to use your phonics to help you. You could write the sentence, 'I am kind.'

Maths Challenge

Yesterday in maths, Goldilocks shared her toy cars with the Bears. Today she is going to share her fruit snack with them. Look at the pictures below. She has shared her banana and grapes with Baby Bear. How many pieces of banana and grapes do they have each? Do they have the same?

Can you share your snack with your teddy bears or someone in your family. If you don't have fruit you could use raisins, sweets or biscuits.

If Goldilocks had 10 sweets and she shared them with Baby Bear, how many would they have each?

What about if she had 13 sweets? How many would they have each? Are there any left over? Try sharing different amounts. You can take photographs or draw pictures of your learning.

Phonics

Watch Mrs Tingeys phonic videos and have a go at her challenges. You can also watch the Alpha blocks videos to help you learn these sounds. In the video below, the Alpha blocks are learning the 'ar' sound. Help them sound out the words and practise writing them.
