Literacy Challenge

Today we would like you to make porridge for your breakfast and try different toppings such as jam, chocolate spread or bananas. Talk about what happens to the porridge oats when they are cooked.

We would then like you to write a sentence about your favourite topping. If you don't have porridge you could make toast instead. Look at the photograph below of Baby Bear with his bowl of porridge. Read the sentence. What is his favourite topping?

In maths today we would like you to find objects in your home or in the garden that are taller than and shorter than your teddy bear. Remember to speak in sentences when you are talking about your learning. For example, the table is taller than the teddy bear.

Look at the photos below. Encourage your child to talk about the height of the objects in each picture.

In phonics today we would like your child to continue to practise recognising sounds and tricky words by playing Flashcards Speed Trial and Tricky Word Trucks.

We would also like them to play Space Race. You can choose either Phase 2 or Phase 3. The children can either type in the words or write them on paper.
