Good morning everyone!

We hope you are all still enjoying the snow! It is still very cold outside. The children who were in school yesterday enjoyed looking for icicles and playing in the snow.

Literacy Challenge

Well done to all of you that have completed the Literacy challenges this week. We have really enjoyed looking at the new characters for your stories. The children in school today changed their stories to three little cows and the big bad spider and the three little chicks and the big bad cat. The children enjoyed retelling their stories.

For your challenge today we would like you to draw a picture of your favourite story that we have been learning about over the last few weeks and write a sentence about your picture.

Maths Challenge

This week we have been learning the names of 3D shapes and finding them around our homes. Today we are going to look at the properties of these shapes.

Look at the pictures of the shapes. I have drawn a picture of a face on each of them. This part of the shape is called a 'face'. The cube has 6 square faces. Find a cube, cuboid, cone and a cylinder at home. Look at each of them and talk about the shape of the faces.

Now we are going to sort the shapes. Look at the pictures below. The shapes have been sorted into those with all flat sides, those with all curved sides and those with both. Find some of the shapes at home and sort them into these groups.
We would now like you to investigate which of the shapes will roll along the floor and those that don't. Can you sort the shapes into these groups?
