Monday 8th February

Good morning everyone! We hope you all had a lovely weekend! It was lovely to wake up yesterday morning and see the snow! I hope you all had lots of fun playing in it, although it was very cold!

The goats were not a fan of the snow!

Lets get warmed up for our learning this morning with a Yoga session.

Literacy Challenge

The Three Little Pigs are going to have lots of fun playing in the snow today. Can you help them to make snowmen or maybe even a house of snow! Instead of making a snowman you could make a snow pig!

If you can't get outside you could draw a picture of the Three Little Pigs in the snow. What will they need to wear? It is very cold outside! Watch the video below to help you draw a picture of a snow house for the Three Little Pigs.

Maths Challenge

Last week we were learning about 2D shapes. This week we are going to be learning about solid 3D shapes.

The Three Little Pigs have been looking around their homes to find different 3D shapes.

The first Pig found a baked bean can. It is a cylinder.

The second Pig found a ball. It is a sphere.

The third Pig found a dice. It is a cube.

The wolf found a cardboard box. It is a cuboid.

Can you find these shapes in your home?

Listen to the song below to help you learn about 3D shapes.

If it is too cold to go outside you could try making fake snow. You will need 1/2 cup of hair conditioner and 3 cups of cornflour. Mix it up and it is ready to play with. Can you make a snow pig and an igloo for him to live in? If you don't have hair conditioner, you could use shaving foam instead. You will need 1 cup of corn flour and 1 cup of shaving foam. Have fun!
