Literacy
This week we are going to be reading the traditional tale, 'Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.'
Listen to the story by clicking on the link below. You can listen to the story as many times as you like.
We would like you to use your teddy bears to role-play the story. Can you find 3 bowls, 3 chairs and 3 beds in your house to help you with the story. You could make beds for your bears using cardboard boxes.
Maths Challenge
This week in maths we are going to be learning how to measure how tall things are. Today we would like you to sort your toy teddies from shortest to tallest. If you don't have many teddy bears you could use some of your toys. You could also compare heights of your family members. Who is the shortest in your family? Who is the tallest in your family? You could take photographs of your findings or draw a picture. Encourage your child to use the correct maths language and speak in sentences. For example, this teddy bear is taller than this teddy bear. Daddy is taller than me. I am the shortest.
Phonics
Phonics Play is a free website with games and activities to help your child practise their phonic skills. The children have all learned the Phase 2 sounds and tricky words at school but they will still need to practise daily. We have also started learning some of the Phase 3 sounds and tricky words and will be revising these this term, with Mrs Tingey.
Each day we would like your child to play the Flashcards Speed trial and Tricky words games. You can choose either Phase 2 or Phase 3 depending on how confident they are.
Today we would also like them to play the Rocket Race game. Again you can choose either Phase 2 or Phase 3.
Click on the link below to take you to the website. It is free to access, just use the login details on the site.
