Maths

Today we looked at Volume and Capacity. We had to investigate how many cups of water each container would fill. It was very interesting to find out some of the containers held more water than first impressions!

As part of our learning on measure, we followed a recipe to make cookies. We used scales and measured the ingredients using grams.

We have started term 4 by learning about fractions. We investigated what a fraction is and explored fractions of shapes and fractions of amounts.

We have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We made patterns with them, named them and also described their properties too.

We have started Term 3 by learning about data and ways to represent it. We collected information from our friends about their favourite food and presented it in a tally chart. We then used this to make pictograms.

We have been learning how to make teen numbers using the number fans and dienne sticks to learn about Place Value. The children picked up this concept quickly and were able to make their own numbers.
