We spent the morning creating our own 'sparklers' within the classroom to get in the spirit of Guy Fawkes night this week. A thoroughly enjoyable activity which the children really enjoyed.
African river research
Year 5 have been learning about rivers and what features can be found on a river (meanders, flood plains & sources etc.) They have extended this learning by researching African rivers and fun facts associated with these rivers and presented them in fun, interactive pop-up notebooks.
Benin animal clay tiles
We have been learning about the religion and traditions of the Benin culture; specifically that the people of Benin were animists and believed in the powers of the animals. The children designed and made their own clay tiles with either leopard or fish designs. They took great care ensuring their clay was well bound together and decorated. Some great examples this year!
The Kingdom of Benin: non-chronological reports
A small selection of the children's work completed on the African topic Benin. We were really impressed with the care and attention they took completing their reports and really impressed with the level of detail they were able to include. Well done Manatees!!
