Monday 31st January

Read the last two chapters of 'Fantastic Mr Fox'.  You should now have read the whole book.

Write a book review to encourage someone else to read the book.  Use the book review template sheet to help you write your book review.

Tuesday 1st February

In class, we are spending a little more time writing our book reviews about 'Fantastic Mr Fox'.  If you haven't finished your book review at home, you could spend some more time completing it, today.  You could also try to make some improvements in your writing.

If you have completed your book review, you can have a go at this reading comprehension exercise.  Read the text carefully, then answer the questions.

Wednesday 2nd February

You are going to plan a story in the style of Roald Dahl's, 'Fantastic Mr Fox'.  You are going to choose a different main character who will be the hero of the story, just like Mr Fox.   You will also need to have three enemies of the main character, just like the Farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean.

Use the story planning sheet to help you plan your own story.

Thursday 3rd February

Today, you are going to think about the setting for your own story.  Draw a picture of your setting, and write some sentences which will take your reader to the place where your character lives.  You could re-read the beginning of 'Fantastic Mr Fox', to remind yourself how Roald Dahl did this.

Then, write a short description of your character's home.
