In Firefly Class we work towards greater independence and developing social skills alongside fulfilling our educational targets. We love to spend lots of time out of the classroom learning about the world around us including visiting local parks and shops (when restrictions allow). As well as the usual literacy and numeracy, our days consist of sensory circuits to focus our mind and bodies, workboxes for independent learning and yoga . We also develop our attention skills using Attention Autism consisting of Kate's famous bucket of toys and activities in 20 minute sessions. Alongside these activities we also take part in weekly cooking, forest school and trips out. Click on the Curriculum link below which gives more in depth information about our days and includes our timetable.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES WHO ARE ISOLATING:
We will be creating some learning opportunities for your child using the online platform: Purple Mash and Education City. For those families without electronic gadgets (laptops, tablets etc) we will provide paper copies of any relevant worksheets for your child to complete whilst they are at home. Please contact us, via the class email address firstname.lastname@example.org, if you need any further information. Scroll down this page to find some useful links whilst staying at home.
Sports Morning 2021
Our Sports Morning was a great success. It was very hot so we enjoyed a water fight afterwards including water balloons! Kate got very wet indeed! The children enjoyed the activities and listened well to the instructions.
