Coronavirus Updates
Here at Whitfield Aspen School, we would like to stay in touch with parents and pupils at this difficult and challenging time.
With this in mind, this page of the website has been created for all communications from school regarding the current situation and maybe even some fun things to make you smile!
It will be updated when we have anything we feel you may find useful, so please keep checking the page!
Stay safe everybody
Books Beyond Words to Read with your Child
WASPFA have kindly donated the money for every child in the school to take home and keep 2 wordless story books; Lenny and Lily in Lockdown and Lenny and Lily Return to School. These stories are also available as a free downloadable app on the Books Beyond Words website. As these books were trialled by Whitfield Aspen pupils during Lockdown, we were offered paper copy versions for each of our children to keep.
These wordless stories are designed to allow children to make up their own stories using their own experiences and imagination. A chance for the children to think about and talk about their feelings during these very uncertain times. It will give you the chance to hear what your child thinks is happening, what they know and how they feel.
These stories can also be used to explain to children through words, actions, Makaton signing or objects of reference the stories of Lenny and Lily.
We really hope you find the books helpful to support your children during these really tricky times.
Thanks again to WASPFA for their support.

We hope that you are all well and keeping safe. We are ALL missing you but understand that you and your families are following Government guidance and staying at home – school is very quiet without you all!
Your teachers have been working hard to give you learning opportunities via Purple Mash.
If you haven’t had a look yet, then please do – there is something for everyone!
Best wishes
