We hope you enjoyed the Easter break and that the children are looking forward to the exciting opportunities and challenges we have on offer this term.
In English this term we are going to reading the very entertaining story of The Twits by Roald Dahl and using it to develop our descriptive writing. This text will also be used in our Guided Reading lessons to explore the roles of the different characters in the story................we wonder how the story would have been different if the Twits had actually been nice to each other!
In maths we are extending our number knowledge and learning the different methods that we can use to help us solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division word problems. We will also be getting ready for the Year 2 SATs tests.
In geography we are going to learn how to draw aerial maps and in art we are going to be trying our hand at printing. Science is going to be all about living things and their habitats.
PE will continue to be on a Tuesday (Dolphins) and Thursday (Lions), please can you ensure that your child has the correct PE kit in school and that earings are removed where possible.
The class teachers are Mrs Hogben and Mr Hitchiner. TA's are L.Proudlock and A.Watson
