Year 2 - Dolphin, Llama & Polar Bear

Welcome to Year 2!

Term 2

We are learning about the Great Fire of London this term. During our topic we will be finding out how Samuel Pepys wrote his diaries and what they taught us about this historical event. The children have made and burnt Tudor houses with their friends in year 5.

This week we will be visiting the fire station in Whitfield and the children will be able to ask the fire fighters about how they fight fires nowadays, then we will compare this with the events in 1666.

This term we have decided to perform a Christmas play, called 'Santa's Setbacks'. All 3 classes will be working hard to learn their lines, songs and dances together and are very excited about being able to perform this to the school and their families.

The class teachers in Year 2 are Mrs Carter (Polar Bear Class), Mrs Parker-Gorman (Llama Class) and Mr Hitchiner (Dolphin Class).

The class TAs are Mrs Buckley, Paula Pfledger, Mrs Rivers, Mrs Licence and Mrs Proudlock.

We are all thoroughly looking forward to working with you over the course of the year.
