Year 4 Visit to Samphire Hoe
Bee and Monkey class visited Samphire Hoe on Thursday 16th of May and had a fantastic time. The morning was spent on a walk to the beach finding out about all the native plants and birds including the meadow pipit. We enjoyed making smelly pots and the scavenger hunt on the beach revealed a few treasures.
After lunch, we made aquifers, discovered what materials dissolve in water and enjoyed pond dipping. What a super day!
Happy Easter from Bee class. We loved making our Bunny Easter cards and we hope you like them too.
Mother's Day Pendants
We hope you loved the pendants we made for you which were inspired by our work on the Anglo Saxons.
A big well done to all the Spring competition winners. Lily, Emily, Inaya, Cally and Hayden for winning the spelling prizes. Good luck to everyone in the Summer term.
Bee class really enjoyed studying the book 'Lost and Found'. We wrote prequels, stories for the penguin and penguin fact files. Also, we designed boats using a variety of recycled plastic and checked whether we could float them or not!
Bee class Assembly on Friday 11th of January was a great success. Well done to everyone for learning their lines.
We are delighted with the variety of pyramids made by Bee class as part of the Home Learning project. An amazing variety of materials were used to produce ingenious designs including polystyrene, wood, Lego and card - well done to everyone!
Year 4 have been busy designing and making thrones for a Pharaoh. After their initial designs, we had to saw and make our seat structure from lolly sticks. After that, we added extra sticks to personalise our thrones. Next, we carefully painted with metallic paints. Adding 'jewels' and sparkly pipe cleaners to embellish our designs. Finally, we sewed cushions to make the thrones more comfortable. Mrs Williams was so delighted with our work ethic and attention to detail, that she put the whole class into the Book of Achievement!
Well done to the Autumn term winners in Bee class. Phoebe for winning the Spelling and Reading prizes, Lily for winning a spelling prize and Liam for winning the raffle spelling prize. Good luck everyone for the Spring term competitions.
Year 4 had an enjoyable afternoon with an interclass 'mummy' competition. Each group were given two toilet rolls to dress their 'mummy' and a time limit of ten minutes. Teachers gave out points for: team work, best museum exhibit and least likely to make it to the afterlife. A great time was had by all!
Bee class travelled to Maidstone to the Kent Museum of Life for an action-packed Ancient Egyptian day. During the day we went to several activities including: building pyramids, dress like an Egyptian, Egyptian food, magical medicine and entertaining the Pharaoh with dancing. Also, we were able to look round the farm and houses. A fantastic day!
